You have to change it occasionally. I just did a brake fluid flush on my wife’s 2010 Fit. I’m guessing this is 8 year/73,000 mile old brake fluid. She’d been having problems with her brakes freezing up over night and not working when she got to the end of the allyway.

I should probably have my mechanic swap my fluid next time I do brakes. I have no idea how old it is so it may very well be original.

Looks like our big bottle of ponzu sauce ... don’t confuse it with soy or anything.

Feeling shamed into doing my brakes this week and probably *not* posting the results to Oppo.

I never knew that. The car hand 38,000 on it when we bought it, and it’s possible it had pads, and rotors done before we got it. But even then we’ve owned it for 3 years and almost double that mileage.

I threw it away as soon as I took this picture. I was worried my kid would drink it thinking it was Coke.

Humans and cats here, so anything like that goes behind a child latch, because one of the cats always tried to break in ...

That’s what my clutch fluid looked like when I bought my C5Z. It’s apparently a pain in the butt to actually bleed, so a track friend with one told me the trick people use. Turkey baster out the reservoir, replace what you can. Often. I usually do it after every two or three sessions on track. It’s definitely getting better, but it’s still not good.
